“Glock Safety Protocol”

RDIH Tactical Safety System for Glock

MOUNTED MANUAL SAFETY – INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

The Tactical Safety System for Glock pistols, by RDIH, should be installed on “stock” Glock Pistols ONLY.  SPECIFICALLY, THE MOUNTED MANUAL SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE ADDED TO ANY GLOCK PISTOL WHERE THE “CONNECTOR” OR ANY PART OF THE FIRING MECHANISM HAS BEEN ALTERED IN ANY WAY.

PERSONS INSTALLING THE MOUNTED MANUAL SAFETY DEVICE ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFELY TESTING THE FUNCTION OF THE MOUNTED SAFETY DEVICE, PRIOR TO ANY AMMUNITION BEING INTRODUCED INTO THE FIREARM.

THE FOLLOWING INSTALLATION AND SAFETY TESTING PROTOCOL IS INTENDED FOR GUNSMITHS, PISTOLSMITHS, AND PERSONS KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT ALL FUNCTIONS OF THE GLOCK PISTOL AND QUALIFIED TO INSTALL THE MANUAL SAFETY DEVICE.

SAFETY TESTING PROTOCOL:

  1. REMOVE MAGAZINE AND completely clear the pistol of all ammunition and lock back the slide using the slide stop.
  2. Completely remove ammunition from all magazines. Remove all ammunition from the room to a secure location.
  3. Remove original Glock Slide Backplate, and replace with Mounted Safety Deveice of the TSSG per the enclosed instructions.
  4. Release the slide lock allowing the slide to move forward into battery.
  5. Move the Manual Safety Control Arms UP AND DOWN, and allow to remain in the “down” or Fire position
  6. With no magazine in the pistol, pull back the slide to re-check that pistol is “clear” (barrel is empty and free of ammunition – allow slide to return to battery
  7. With pistol pointed in a safe direction, pull the trigger. You should hear an audible “click” of the striker being released, and the Trigger will remain in the rearward position.
  8. Completely cycle the slide. Trigger should return to the forward position.
  9. Move the arms of the manual safety device to the “UP” or On-Safe Position.
  10. Pull on the trigger. There should be no audible “click” of the striker being released and the trigger should return to it’s fully forward position after being pulled.  Pulling the trigger multiple times should have the same result as the first trigger pull with safety in the “UP” or On-Safe Position, with the trigger returning to the fully forward position after each pull.
  11. If the Safety Test results were as described in Steps 8 – 11, the device is working as intended.

HOWEVER, ANY TEST RESULT THAT IS NOT CONSISTENT WITH THE EXPECTATIONS DETAILED IN STEPS 8 – 11 ABOVE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: “STRIKER RELEASES AS A RESULT OF A TRIGGER PULL WITH THE DEVICE IN THE ON-SAFE POSITION”, DEVICE MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE PISTOL AND ORIGINAL SLIDE BACK-PLATE REPLACED.  IT IS PROBABLE THAT THIS GLOCK PISTOL HAS BEEN ALTERED AND / OR THE CONNECTOR, OR OTHER INTERNAL PART IS NOT OEM AND TSSG SHOULD NOT BE UTILIZED UNTIL PISTOL HAS BEEN FULLY INSPECTED BY A GUNSMITH, PISTOLSMITH, OR ARMORER.

  1. Next, with the slide forward and the Mounted Safety Device in the “On Safe” position, retract the slide fully rearward allowing the slide to return to battery. The arms of the device remain in the “On Safe” position.  Moving the slide slightly rearward (approximately ¼”) and back to fully forward position produces same result, the arms of the device remain in the “On Safe” position.  Any result that does not fulfill this expectation requires removal of the Mounted Safety Device from the Glock Pistol, and restoration of the original back plate.

IN THE EVENT OF ANY MALFUNCTION OF THIS DEVICE,

USER MUST CONTACT BHSpringSolutions LLC IMMEDIATELY

BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO: BHSSTSSG@gmail.com.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER OF THIS PRODUCT TO TEST, WITH SUFFICIENT FREQUENCY, ALL ASPECTS OF FUNCTION OF HIS/HER FIREARM, AND TO ASSURE THAT THE FIREARM RECEIVED PROPER MAINTENANCE AND PERIODIC INSPECTION BY A GUNSMITH, PISTOLSMITH, OR ARMORER.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER TO FOLLOW ALL SAFE FIREARMS HANDLING PRACTICES AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED WITH THE TESTING PROTOCOL DESCRIBED HERE.  AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CARRYING OUT THIS TESTING PROTOCOL:

NEVER HAVE YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER OF ANY FIREARM UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO FIRE THE WEAPON.

FOR ALL PURPOSES OF COMPLETING THE SAFETY TESTING PROTOCOL DESCRIBED HEREIN, OR FOR PURPOSES OF PRACTICE (DRY-FIRING), ALWAYS OVERIMPLIMENT ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND ONLY IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.  OTHERWISE, DO NOT HAVE YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER OF ANY FIREARM, EVER, FOR ANY REASON, UNTIL YOU INTEND TO FIRE THE WEAPON.

NEITHER RDIH, BHSpringSolutions LLC, nor any officers, employees, or affiliates of either company, represent or warrant that an “Unintended Discharge” will not, or cannot happen when utilizing the Tactical Safety System for Glock pistols.  Utilization of the Tactical Safety System for Glock (TSSG) adds margins of safety/safeguards to the Glock design in the event of human error – but does not and cannot safeguard against all human errors, nor can any safety margins safeguard against the possibility of Unintended Discharge due to mechanical failure or lack of sufficient maintenance including periodic servicing and evaluation of a firearm by a qualified Gunsmith or Pistolsmith.  ANYTIME a round of ammunition is chambered in the barrel of any firearm, the possibility of an Unintended Discharge greatly increases.
