BHSpringSolutions - 1911 Tactical Grips Talk…….
Why the “thumb-rest” design on the right grip, and indented left grip, for the 1911?
This is a BHSpringSolutions LLC Exclusive Design. During rapid deholstering, the contour on the right grip acts as a guide for proper hand positioning – the trigger finger finds the right grip contour and the rest of the hand follows to a correct and high position on the 1911 grip frame. During magazine changes, the indent on the left grip decreases distance to the magazine release allowing more shooters’ thumbs to reach the magazine release without repositioning the hand. If the shooters thumb finds the indent during deholstering or shooting, this is a signal that the thumb and probably the rest of the hand, is positioned too low on the grip frame. Left-handed shooter? BHSpringSolutions LLC can reverse these designs on the left and right grips.

Why the “thumb-rest” design?
Ergonomic thumb-rest design assures correct hand placement during rapid deholstering, and enhances stability and control during shooting.
What is a “CCM” and why is it important?
The Hi Power grips have a “CCM” (critical circumference measurement). This is the distance around the grip frame, measured across the grip screws and around the grip, with grip stocks installed. This position on the grip is approximately between the middle finger and ring finger which is the point of the hand’s strongest hold on the grip frame. The more the hand wraps around the grip at this point, a more comfortable and commanding “feel” that is experienced by the shooter.
CCM Comparison of Hi Power Grips:
The design of 1911 grip panels influenced the design of the BHSpringSolutions Hi Power Masters Grips. In addition to a more complete hand wrap of the grip frame (CCM), a lower CCM was accomplished while creating a center-of-grip “swell”, causing the grip to “meet” the palm of the shooter’s shooting hand. BHSpringSolutions Masters Grips give the Hi Power the “feel” of a 1911.
NOTE: Due to production deviations in pistol frames, some minor fitting/filing may be necessary.
